Beschreibung
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), in both its rigid and plasticized forms, is currently the third most commonly used plastic worldwide. Besides its already established use as a plastic material, there is a growing interest in the research of PVC-based interpenetrating polymer networks and gels, which will further expand its current applications. The characterization of all PVC materials at various stages of the research and development, as well as during the industrial production and processing, is accompanied by different spectroscopic methods. This section provides an overview of the various spectroscopic methods used to characterize PVC materials.
