Model: Cryomill
Short description: The CryoMill from Retsch GmbH is a ball mill that can be used to cryogenically grind samples at a temperature of -196 °C. The grinding cup is continuously cooled with liquid nitrogen by an integrated cooling system. During the process, the grinding container performs circular oscillations in a horizontal position, causing the inert balls to strike the pre-cooled material and crush it. Machine parameters such as oscillation frequency, pre-cooling time, and grinding duration can be set via the display.
Application: Cold grinding with liquid nitrogen for comminuting, mixing, and homogenizing plastic samples (soft to hard, brittle, elastic, fibrous), as well as other materials.
