The IKK was part of a special exhibition on sustainable design in Berlin: for two weeks, the atrium of the Lower Saxony state government served as a test bed for sustainable design. In collaboration with the August Kestner Museum, visitors were able not only to view designer furniture but also to actively experience it – in keeping with the spirit of design that is both practical for everyday use and forward-looking.
During the closing event, Dr Madina Shamsuyeva from the IKK provided insights into current challenges and innovations in the field of plastics recycling. Particular emphasis was placed on scalable pre-treatment processes for plastic-based input streams and on recycling technologies featuring near real-time inline quality assurance during the process.
Anyone who missed the presentation in Berlin still has a chance: the dual exhibition “Circular and Fun Design” is on display at the August Kestner Museum in Hanover until the beginning of June and is complemented by a varied supporting programme featuring guided tours, discussions and events.
