Once again this year, KME invited students from the Mechanical Engineering Campus to visit them in Laatzen. As part of the “Circular Engineering” lecture of the “Sustainable Engineering” course, they had the opportunity to get to know a large mechanical engineering company in the plastics industry. After a short theoretical sequence on the history and products of the company, they were given an extensive tour of the machinery. Particular attention was paid to the large compounding line, the single and twin screw extruder and the film extrusion line. During the tour, the students had plenty of time to talk to Gerhard Scheel, Head of Development at KME, ask questions and discuss the possibilities of working together on a thesis.
