For 11 years, he served as the point of contact for the doctoral students of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Josef Endres, and he has facilitated 22 doctoral student meetings: Dr. Florian Bittner receives heartfelt thanks for his dedication from both former and current doctoral candidates, as well as from Endres.

The first meeting took place as early as 2015 at the IfBB—Institute for Bioplastics and Biocomposites at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and at HOFZET—the Application Center for Wood Fiber Research at the Fraunhofer Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institute. With Endres’s move to Leibniz University and in parallel with the restructuring of the IKK, this tradition was continued. Throughout these turbulent times, it was reassuring for Endres to have Bittner, who heads the Materials Testing division at the IKK, as a colleague who supported him reliably and responsibly in this endeavor.

The IKK has since entered calmer waters, and the regular doctoral student meetings have become fully established, allowing Bittner to hand over responsibility for their organization and execution.
