Stefan Kerkenberg is the last member of the IKK team to present on the topic: “Intelligent Use of Power Profiles in Plastic Injection Molding,” an area he explores in his doctoral thesis, among other works.

The presentation focused on energy consumption analyses of

  • process parameters,
  • cycle phases, and
  • individual levels of machine components.

Energy efficiency is a topic that is driving the global economy today more than ever, not just in the plastics industry. And so the participants followed the presentation closely and subsequently engaged in an intensive discussion of energy hotspots and possible reductions in the scope of testing using Design of Experiment (DoE).
