Brief description: Electrodynamic testing machine for performing fatigue and service life tests, as well as for determining the viscoelastic properties of plastics.

Specimens: Plastics, fiber-reinforced and filled plastics, metals

Applications: Electrodynamic testing machine for performing fatigue and endurance tests under tensile, compressive, and bending loads. Both dynamic and static tests can be performed in a temperature range from -80°C to 250°C. The viscoelastic properties of plastics can be determined using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). Software-supported analysis of the storage modulus E' and the loss modulus E'' enables sensitive determination of the glass transition temperature TG of plastics.

The software calculates the following results using both the energy method (integration of the hysteresis loop) and Fourier transformation:

Characteristic value Symbol Unit
Loss factor tan δ -
Dynamic modulus E* MPa
Storage modulus MPa
Loss modulus E´´ MPa
Dynamic stiffness k* N/mm
Elastic stiffness N/mm
Viscous stiffness k´´ N/mm
Available energy Wavailable J
Energy loss Wloss J
